Blue-Eyed Boy is a poem about the storyteller hidden behind a guarded surface — the sparkle and wit tucked away where laughter and tears blur together. It asks what happens when that story is finally allowed to be told, and what it takes to hand him the pen.

Blue-Eyed Boy

The little man who didn’t want to grow up
didn’t see the light in his own eyes.
Terrified by ghosts from the past,
he stopped and waited
for it all to pass.

Life was slipping away,
full of misery and pain.
What he longed for,
he hid away — his misery —
so nothing could escape:
not his sparkle,
nor his wit.

Jammed into those shadowy places
where laughter glides
behind the tears.

So who opens these oysters?

The blue-eyed boy.

Please be aware:
he is ready to open in bliss —
thunder, lightning, wind and rain,
all in an instant.

But behind that frustration,
you will see skies filled with stars,
painted in every colour —
because his name is Storyteller.

His convictions and objections
are all true within his mind,
but believe them not too quickly.
For what you see
is only what he allows you to see.

Behind those twinkling eyes
lies the best-hidden story of his life —
a story waiting to be told.

Give him a pen,
and you will experience
all the adventures he carries within —
the laughter, the storms,
the tears and the stars —

the man
with the boyish blue eyes.
